Has anyone here ever heard about adding two cans of "Heat" or
"Heet" to a full tank of gas to eliminate any water or moisture in the gas tank and fuel lines? Another Corvette owner said that I should try it, but I don't know if it realy works or if it would mess up the injectors.

Re: Question about "Heat" or "Heet" (Netnarc2)
 93% isopropyl alchohol (rubbing alcohol) will do the same thing, that is absorb water that may be in the bottom of the tank. Get it from the drug store, much cheaper.
Alcohol, in quantity, can attack rubber fuel lines. If you want to do this "one time', it should be fine.
To avoid condensation (water in the tank) in the future, keep your tank full. Particularly if the car is going to set for any period of time.
The more air (less fuel) in the tank, the greater the chance of condensation.
BTW...I pour in one pint of 93% isopropyl every year, no problems!
Most gasolines today have alcohol in them, especially in the winter months. I believe Shell, Marathon and Amoco are the only ones that don't add alcohol, at least in Ohio.
