Re: Steering shake when Slowing down from 80 MPh (TA)
How long since a brake job? Rotor wear can also cause vibration, usually noticeable all the time (esp when on the brakes), but is possible to only show up at higher speeds if they are only slightly worn.

I put NEW Drilled rotors with pads about a month ago it only shake Between 60 - 80 mostly at 70 MPH. I checked Everything in the front end and it looks good one more thing could a out of balance dirve shaft cause the steering wheel to shake
Re: Steering shake when Slowing down from 80 MPh (Matt Black)
I have the same shimmy at ~70. Actually, mine comes on at 73mph according to the speedo, and goes away at 76-78mph. I haven't been able to figure it out either. So, I just drive slower than 73, or faster than 78. Best I can tell, it's somekind of harmonic vibration, but really doesn't have a specific cause. My tires have been balanced twice, driveshaft balanced, etc... and nothing I have done will make it go away.

Had the same sort of thing with mine. Took it to local Discount Tire and happened to get someone who took a little pride in what they did and low and behold he found an out of round tire. He replaced the tire and spent some time getting the tire just right so it didn't need much weight. Car was smooth as silk after that. Tires had been balanced 3 or 4 tire before that with always the shaking. Good Luck, there is an answer to this.
