Default Fastener List / Reference

One of the things I've noticed while working on my son's C4 is a whole host of degraded fasteners (or more often some that are just missing from previous work done on the vehicle). I've got the FSM and it's got lots of detail on the torque specifications for all the fasteners, but as near as I can tell none of the exploded diagrams or lists shows what type of fastener is there. Does anyone know if there's a good reference somewhere with fastener lists for the car? Or with the FSMs exploded diagrams updated with more information that just "screw" on these? I know that lots of the Corvette-specific sites let you buy fasteners and kits by application, but I have access to high-grade stainless steel metric hardware of almost any type and none of these sites tell you plainly that it's, for example, and M6-1.0 x 25mm body bolt, etc. Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction.

I replaced alot of fasteners on my 88 project with SS. I'm a boat guy so I have access to SS hardware, and I hate rusty fasteners.
I never found a list like your asking. I pulled the bolt nut I wanted to change and matched it up.. I can tell you, body wise,, that you will need a crap load of m6x1 in a few lengths. Darn near everything is metric except the engine itself..

Thanks. That's what I'll do for fasteners that are there/intact, but it doesn't always help for the ones that are just plain missing. I figured M6 would be pretty common throughout based on what I've seen so far.

Dealerships used printed parts manuals through 1992. These have fairly complete descriptions for fasteners. Of course, the fasteners
are mostly the same through 1996. I used to get the superceded manuals from my parts guy .

That's a good tip! I found a place in MA that does reprint "Parts & Illustration" manuals and I might end up ordering one there. I doubt any dealerships near me still have the superseded ones hanging around. I'm a bit surprised that I can't seem to find a place that does scanned versions on CD like I was able to get for the FSM. In any case, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll update if I do manage to snag one.

I've got four bolts missing that I didn't know were missing on my '90.

The two bolts that hold down the fuel line bracket next to the compressor. I believe they're likely the cobalt bolts.

One bolt that threads into the air pump. It's supposed to bolt down a stabilizer bracket to the motor, there by the thermostat housing. The side of the bracket connected to the block has a bolt, but the bolt that goes into the air pump and holds the other end of the stabilizer bracket is missing.

Then one more single bolt that connects the pipe to the A.I.R. unit from the top. The two bolts on the other side of the pipe where it connects to the air pump are there, but not sure if it's the same bolt on the other end of the pipe where it's missing

I could have sworn I'd seen bolt information in the FSM some place, though. Just haven't felt like going through it again.

I find the paper manual is easy to use. Couldn't imagine doing it on PC.
