Trying to get blue tooth without modifying the bose gold in the car. It's dark right now so I cannot confirm but I have a CD changer in there. It appears to be a CDX-FM1289, I'll have to confirm the model tomorrow.
Seems like the changer interfaces via FM injection? I'm curious if I would be able to somehow modify that for blue tooth since I have no CD's at all. Has anyone ever done this? Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks.
That is an add on CD changer that used a FM modulator to "broadcast" the CD signal over an unused FM frequency. There is no way to modify that for Bluetooth AFAIK.
There are options out there but I have no experience with them. https://automobileremedy.com/tools-a...h-car-adapter/
Thanks I have several of those with varying results in different cars. The problem I'm running in to is they're all too big. I can't get them in the lighter socket straight.
The CD changer is actually a CDX-FM1257 missing the magazine.
If you just want the ability to play music from your phone you could add an aux input using a RF transmitter, I have this one in a few of my cars with good results. https://isimple.com/collections/fm-t...ducts/radiomod
You should be able to buy one for much less on Ebay.
I was looking at those too. Actually that specific one General consensus is these modulators work better than the little cigarette lighter transmitters. I spent a little time looking at the wiring coming from the CD changer. Trying maybe hack together something into the existing transmitter. According to the pioneer PDF the existing one has an attenuator, and some sort of simple eq.
I just ordered one of these. The 88mm x 20.6mm it should fit right in there and give me what I'm looking for without any mods for now. Baseus FM bluetooth transmitter

So the Baseus bluetooth jammy just arrived. Fits just fine, connected and plays without issues. Transmit power is very low but usable. The USB ports and display are opposite of what I think they should be. It'll hold me over for a while.
PS It does not seem to sleep itself.
