I've tried those and they aren't long enough to engage the threads in the trans. Threads are about an inch down inside case. 89 black lable.

You can see on solenoid how far it goes until threads. Trans isn't here although has the same spacing until threads start.

Hi All, I wanted to close the loop on this one. So the solenoid has to be removed from the threaded bolt/plug on the end. Then I had to remove the actuator pin and spring inside the bolt/plug. A normal sized plug will then fit the top of the bolt/plug.
