Hello team,
I am in the process of replacing my water pump which has failed. In doing so I am going to install a new AC compressor to replace the old one which works poorly. As this process has unfolded I have found that the upper part of the AC bracket is broken at the forward connection point. As I have looked for replacements, the parts I have found online look different. Supposedly they fit but the lower section of the bracket that mounts to the water pump is missing on the replacement item. Any thoughts on this would be great. Thanks.
Mark.
we just did the same thing here, we replaced the water pump and valve cover gaskets so we moved a bunch of stuff out of the way
our compressor bracket has several fractures in it, one very bad so I took it to a local welder and he put it back together
should be nice and secure now and belt seems nice and tight
couldn't find one exact on line nor at a local junk yard
mine is an 89

Seems like over the years a lot of alternator and ac compressor braces get tossed and not used. This causes bracket failure over time. I did a video showing where they all go. I was able to find most of the braces on eBay but did fab up one of them myself
