I took off my injectors on Friday and set them out to Cruzin Performance. I have my battery disconnected and anything that sparks moved away from the garage. I also put rags in the injector openings on the intake manifold and put the fuel rail (bone dry, all the fuel was already out) on top of the intake manifold (fuel lines connected still). I cleaned up all of the fuel that spilled and called it a day. Yesterday I noticed the car reaked of fuel but the rags were dry and there was no puddle on the ground. But today I came outside and noticed a puddle. The I felt the rags and the rags covering the 1&3, 5&7 cylinders were wet. The 1&3 rag was worse. I said oh s***. I removed my intake duct, removed the rags, and propped open the tb at full throttle. I took a flash light and looked in from the tb. Nothing abnormal. No fuel but it really smells strong. The upper part of the intake is dry. But then I took my flash light and looked down the 1&3 injector holes and there is a puddle of fuel. There is no puddle on the 5&7 side though. What should I do? My injectors should be back mid next week will it dry up? Thanks.
All I could think of is remove all your spark plugs and crack the engine over a few times. This will evac the gas out of your cylinders. Then change your oil because chances are it contaminated
Re: Flooded motor what should I do? (NUckINg FuTS)
Take out the plugs, because your gonna want to change them now anyways, turn the motor over..... Change the oil......... New plugs.... let her rip.... It might not start up right away, but it should if not.... it will turn over after a little encouragement
Thanks for the suggestions. I will change the oil as soon as the injectors come back. And the plugs were on my things to do list anyways. Today I bought a hand pump and sucked out the gas in the 1&3 cylinders. I didn't want to crank over the car with that much gas in the motor. I tried to take out the plugs but it's pretty tight. I need to find an easier way of getting these plugs out. Thanks again.
