Default Intake Air Temp Sensor 91 base

I have the plenum pulled apart on my 91 base L98. I am replacing the IAT among other things since I am this far.
I am finding two types of IATs in various listings. Is there a difference in the solid-tip type versus the open-tip type IAT?
I posted two pics of what I mean.
Currently, I have the solid tip type that appears to be an aftermarket. I would like to replace it with an OEM, but I am not sure which it comes with. The FSM shows a drawing of an open-tip type but the caption reads “typical” implying there could be differences.
Anyone have any expertise in IAT specifics?

Note - I am only doing research at this time. I have not decided where or what to purchase at this time.

The stock sensor is the sold brass type threaded into the bottom of the plenum. I have seen the open style on other gm cars but i haven't seen it on Corvettes or Camaros. I have used the open one in a miniram swap in a Corvette. That intake doesn't have the fitting for it.

Default Strange

Benny,
Thanks for the concise answer. That helps.
While the one currently in there is the sold-tip type, I had doubts when I saw the drawing in
the FSM showing an open-tip type. I guess GM used a generic “file drawing” for the manual.
I will just go get the same type that was already there.
Way too much time to tear down this TPI to swap it again anytime soon!
