I voted red. But with a white car almost any color would look good. Heres a link to my motor. Painted to match my car. My superram is probably going to get powdercoated that color also... Havent decided yet... http://www.vetteracer.com/motor/DCP02387.JPG
My nephew and I were on our way to Carlisle back in August. As we approached the New Castle County (DE) Airport (if you wanna call it such), he saw this Honda Civic painted Orange.
Not any Orange. Nuclear Orange. Atomic Traffic Cone Orange.
It didn't just stand out. Nothing else showed with that colour on the road.
It was rainy, but this was so Orange... it was like the only colour visible. period.
Black motors aren't too easy to find leaks on. And these ARE notoriously leaky motors(rear mains and all of us SR guys know the drill there). Go with a nice red or maybe even grey. Both would look good in a white car's engine bay.
I'd do blue when my motor comes out(If the damn thing doesn't stop spitting oil out of the dipstick, it's going to be soon :D ) :cuss
I have to agree...that old GTO powder blue is hard to beat, when it comes to engine colors. I've always liked the way the powder blue looked when matched up to the chrome engine accessories, and the black rubber hoses, etc., etc..
Now that you've brought it up.........just a little more to look forward to this coming spring.
All chevy engines, race and or street should be orange. All of mine have been and will be. I wish I had a pic of my dads white streetrod he had, it was a 29 chevy sedan, with out side curtains on the hood, and had a chevy orange small block. It was very sharp. Just remember this is your car, go with your color.
Took a look and the kit is about 35 beans. Not bad at all. I like the red idea...Just think it would look good in there with the chrome and white. I want something that show the engine is not a stocker. Guess its the reverse of what most want, but why try to hide it. When you open this baby up on the strip/highway I think its gonna be pretty obvious. :D
Keep the votes coming, looks like the black and red are pretty close..need some votes to offset the margin.
I used the POR 15 engine kit on my block and it looked awesome. That stuff is HARD to get off of your hands too, make sure to use the gloves they give you.
