Default 1985 C4 Missing headlight ****

I'm trying to fix this headlight **** because I know there's a small plastic icon missing from the end of it. Do I need to replace the entire rod as well or just put the plastic piece on the end? If it's just the ****, I'm pretty sure I can replace it with https://www.ecklerscorvette.com/1984...-246464-1.html

I just wanted to be sure. If anyone else knows/has run into this problem let me know. Thanks

I think you should be fine with just the ****. Because the metal piece that is slid on the rod you can remove by pushing the tab further back and pulling it off. Then you can insert the metal clip thing into the new **** and then slide them back on the rod

however if your not careful you can pull the **** back off the metal clip because the clip is just pushed into the **** and there is no permanent lock
