Default Brake question

My braks seem a little soft. The peddle is firm but I have to press harder than I think I should. and they never lock up. Is this normal. Part of anti lock system or is there a problem. I have new shoes and rotors. Made no difference. Car stops just does not feel normal. 94 coupe. thanks tbmoore@cableone.net

Did you bleed the system? If so then the master cylinder may developing problems. If there is no air in the system, then just keep and eye on it.

Yes I have bleed the best I can. and I have not seen any leaks or air in system.. It has been like this since I got it about a year ago. Have looked for vacuum leaks but so far not found any.

My 93 is suffering the same problems. I have bled it out each time I have changed fluid, changed calipers (J55 upgrade), new pads, Earls lines and no change. I can only guess that the MC is on it's way south. Figure I just live with it until it really dies or starts leaking.

I lean more toward booster or vacuum leak. Pedal is real firm and stays that way. Just takes a lot of pressure to stop and never really locks the breaks. Still not sure.
