I changed heads, cam and intake on my stock engine. Dyno said 231 hp @ 5500 rpm and 266 lbs ft @ 3500 rpm.
Added a turbo. Dyno said 627 hp @ 4200 and 802 lbs ft @ 4000 rpm.
Ran 1/4 mile. 11.14 seconds @ 126 mph. 60 ft of 1.75 seconds.
Replaced turbo with a bigger one.
Ran 1/4 mile. 10.86 seconds @ 134 mph. 1/8 mile 7.25 seconds @ 105 mph. 60 ft of 1.85 seconds.

Removed the mufflers and that really woke the engine up ... for a few days.

Engine still had stock 2-bolt block, stock crank, stock rods, stock pistons and stock bolts.

Post mortem analysis showed that everything started with connecting rod failure(s).
Caps and block showed sign of massive cap walk.

At first My plan was to get a cheap block and use some better connecting rods, but after finding the cap walk signs I started looking for options.
I was lucky and scored an unused Dart LittleM for about half of new price so that was great.
As it was unused a lot of machine jobs had to be done like top decking and cylinder finishing.
After that everything became a lot more expensive because I did not want to risk the block from crank failure or rod failure.
Everything I put in the block was several steps above what I had originally planned on if using a cheap stock GM block.
