Ford heavy duty DOT3 is considered the best by most posters I have read on here.

I've used the Ford HD DOT3 fluid, but now the local F*** dealer won't stock it anymore. I've changed to Castrol LMA for street use. It has a slightly higher wet boiling point than the Ford fluid, plus I can get in 1-quart containers which is just right for a complete flush.

Both DOT 3 and DOT 4 will work in your car. Try to buy something fresh in a sealed metal can, not the junk sold cheap in the chain stores.

Do not buy DOT 5. DOT 5.1 will work, but you won't find any in a chain store.

ATE at your local Ricer or Euro shop would be great.

motul600 is the best cheap stuff, i had a site that listed dry and wet boiling point. the lma stuff costs a bloody fortuine & i don't see why someone would spend that yearly. even racing. a couple $14 bottles of motul600 would be my choice. if you never crank up your brakes or go racing to the point your boiling fluid the $5/qt valvoline syn power is a great street choice. the differences between dot 3 and 4 aren't anything you'd care to read about, mostly has to do with minimum wet boiling point.

alright, well I could only find the cheap prestone dot 3. I may do a flush later, and get some better fluid in there, but for now this will have to do.

Thanks for your help guys.
