‘94 LT1 not starting
So today my new to me Z07 arrived today. last night when the fellow I purchased it from (a fellow board member) he said it had ran out of gas and after getting some fuel it would not start. So today when it arrived after unloading it, we tried to get it to run and it sounds at times like it wants to run but just won’t. From what I was told, the car sat for years so yes it could be crap in the bottom of the tank HOWEVER, I could smell fuel briefly when I would stop cranking. C4’s are completely new to me so I’m here for help. Also when I was looking around the car and unscrewed the gas cap, I found it was under pressure which I know it shouldn’t be. Now it seems that I have a few issues going on here and was looking for info outside of the basics of checking spark and fuel pressure as to anything else I may need to look at. The car did come with a CRT Performance Optispark that appears to be new as well as another ECM. The engine i was to.d by the seller is a 377ci, I know the heads are Dart Pro 1 FS aluminum and it has an edelbrock intake and BBK throttle body. That’s about all the knowledge I have on the engine. I am an ASE cert tech and my buddy who’s house the car is at is a World Tech, however neither of us have ever played with a C4 like this. Any and all info is appreciated.
Thanks
First off, if you plan on owning this for a while, do yourself a favor and buy an FSM. They're invaluable, and you're not gonna be doing much work on one without it. Don't trust Haynes or whatever else, they're not nearly detailed enough. They can be found here: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...041354&jsn=881
But beyond that? Nope. Check fuel pressure first, then check spark. But from just that one photo, it looks like you might have a minor basket case on your hands.
Best of luck!
EDIT: Could be the angle of the photo but it also looks like the vacuum line is missing from your fuel pressure regulator.
