I'm rebuilding a 4L60e to use in my 89 project that did not have an Engine - Trans when I got it. I'm using a 95 2WD drive core that I will install the C4 Tail Housing. So I would like to install a Pan that at least has a Drain Plug. I know some of the Trucks used deeper Pans with Plugs. 25 years ago it was all about aftermarket cast Aluminum Pans but that seems to of faded unless your truck is so high everyone cant help but see it.
So what are You guys using ? How does a deeper pan do on a C4 ground clearance wise ?

Stick to the Corvette pan and if you feel 'you must' add a bung to it. I don't know that all 2WD '95 pans are similar same as so ...................
Anybody know if the Corvette Pan has anything unique to it over a regular shallow pan ? Did GM make any shallow pans with drains or was it only the deep pans ?
Do you have a computer to operate the 4l60e ? Id use the deep pan. My 4l60e would suck air at high RPM shifts with a shallow pan unless I overfilled it.

Explain this particular -e build, the car and it's use. Pretty generic claim without substantial supporting documentation

350 SBC/4l60e in my 94 S10. Going down the track shifting ino third at 6k the pump would suck air. If you do a google search its not unusual for this to happen. In late 97 GM started putting the deep pan on 4l60e transmissions.

Amazing how those with 'first hand knowledge' OR 'claim to' point to G-------e, I don't do much of G--------e but I did ask an acquaintance and it was mentioned in some let's say 'specialty builds' to have been a concern but for a C4 'driver' it was also mentioned that it's quite likely that 'pan to asphalt' clearance might be of more concern. A '95+ PWM -e build with shallow pan it was mentioned that understanding the -e, a quality performance build should be manageable. Should be? Builder and parts quality 'matter'!

It is probably not that common among street cars. At the dragstrip it seems to be. My 4l60e has a 13 vane pump and a large boost valve. That may contribute. Anyway it was a big problem for me and I had to ask at the track to find the fix.
