I have a 35th anniversary. It has the following upgrades : 160 deg. thermostat, air foil, stage 2 eprom,K&n filter, I have the filter lid cut open, bosch plat 4 plus plugs, pre cats are gone, main cat is 3 inch free flow, 3 inch flow masters. Now with that said , I want to get 300-325 HP without a bore job and a super charger . I will keep the heads and cam to put aside when it is sold IF It is ever sold. You never have enough H.P. Any suggestions about
cam, heads, and headder type and what make to go with ? Thanks
For that small an amount of hp, you can leave the heads on there. The D-ports you have flow enough air for 350hp unported and are very light (19lbs each). You will just need a 3-angle valve job with new springs and retainers for a new cam.
That said, for MEGA hp, youll want AFR 190s (airflowresearch.com).
You can go with an Accel 211 cam, ported plenum, hi-flow runners from AS&M, and a TPiS Bigmouth or Accel intake manifold. That will get you your goal. 1 5/8" Hooker headers would help too. (1 3/4" has upward mobility, but isnt necessary for 325hp)
To get more hp, youll need to upgrade to Superram or Miniram and use one of their cams to match it. Then get AFRs and the 1 3/4" headers. This will put you in the 350+hp territory.
Id look up prices/specs on lingenfelter.com (accel parts), and tpis.com
