Default Help wanted: hood woes :(

My 94 coupes hood doesn't seem to want to latch on the left (drivers) side. When I drop from the reccomended height it latches on the right side, but rarely on the left. It seems as if somethings in the way but nothing touches the underside of hood. Everytime I close it I have to two hand push the left corner after for it to click into place...then after 5 minutes of driving or a typical nyc pothole, the left side will pop right back out again. Hood stays latched on the right always, and the hood will stay closed on both sides if not driven. There's also a slight bit of up and down wiggle room on the left side even once pushed down whereas the right stays solid. If anyone has ideas I'd love the help....thanks in advance

Likely it's just a latch adjustment.

There's a plastic nut on the end of the cable.

If that doesn't work, your cable may have become stretched over time. In that case, loosen the three nuts on the hood spring and slide it inward just a pinch.

Sometimes you can just spin the latch pin a little if it's just become worn out in one place over time. Need a big wrench for that, though, since you have to loosen that big nut that holds it tight before you can turn it in or out to rotate it to a new position.
