Default C5 brakes in a C4.

I apologize is this has been asked before but if it has I can’t find the thread on it. What all is entailed other than the obvious calipers and what not? My car came stock with the big brakes. It’s a 94. Do I need to switch out the spindles out will the C5 calipers bolt right up? Do I need to change the master cylinder also? Well the calipers clear stock 17” wheels?
Thanks

1) I believe that there are adapters you need in order to bolt on the C5 front calipers.
2) I don't think that they will clear the sawblades but I believe that they do clear the 17" A-mold wheels.

If doing the work, do something better than c5 brakes

Thats what you did before better options came out (like c6 z06 brakes)

If your car came with the J55s, its not much of a step up to C5 brakes, but all you need is all the C5 parts + an adapter plate to mount it. I have them on my 88, I bought stainless lines for the 88, not a C5 part.

There are issues with fitting under the Sawblade wheels, usually they dont fit so the consensus is that you'll need a wheel upgrade to be 100% sure. A-molds/5-spokes from the ZR1 or GS car, or similar aftermarket, they do fit under.

But if I had J55s already I'd probably look into the C6 Z06 brakes, and new wheels so they'll fit.

and hawk hp+ pads (dusty though and cold squeaks)

ive noticed the pads have a huge effect on fade resistance

also braided stainless lines and regular bleeds every other year
