Default convert from column to dash ignition?

Anyone here ever done this? I'm wondering if a C5 ignition switch could be used to convert over, getting rig of the column switch.

Do it in race cars. But I don’t use a factory column.

Are you going to reside everything that requires key on ignition power and remove the column lock?

I have the Longacre switch panel push button start in mine now. I leave the key in the run position till I can replace the column with a racing model.

Good product, comes with directions for wiring.

The idea was to get past the column lock (no C5 CL envy :P ) and not have to reach around the wheel for an "invisible" key slot. Not a "I must do this" more of a "hmmm, that could be cool" thing.

IMO Converting to a keyless transponder where you only have a push button start on the dash ; isn't going to be a simple plug and play process. Going to dash key switch, the only obstacle is deciding where to mount cylinder. Several later models used dash cylinders. Bypassing lock in column is simple just remove locking pin and retainer.

Not looking for Keyless or anything like that - the less computerized/electronics the better.
