It had to have come of my lt1 as it's the only engine I have taken apart. I tried to find it in the diagrams for putting the intake in and couldn't, looks like I get to take it off again and figure out where it goes.
How important is it that it goes on...

What year is your LT1? The shield for a '92 or '93 looking at some SPO LT1 engine images looks to attach differently.
All '92+ LT1/4 part #'d as 10128305 BUT a second look mentions 4 bolts so the image (in early SPO) is in error.

My car is a '94, so that the only thing I can think of that it would have come from. I have bought some used parts from other years, mainly '96 but I feel like if I bought this I would remember.
This part, the splash shield that bolts to the bottom of the intake lower manifold.... It seems to me that it doesn't have much oil splash to control or shield where it's located in the valley, but I do think it's there really to prevent those 4 hex head threaded plugs in the EGR gallery from coming loose and falling into the engine. If those somehow unscrew themselves from the bottom of the manifold there is a risk that they could fall into the oil drain at the back of the block and into the cam / crank / whatever. The chances of that really happening are very low at most...
You can see the holes in the bottom of the intake when these plugs are removed in the photo... If it were me I don't think I would open up that motor since this part is sort of a safety more than anything else. You'll probably need to take the manifold off for something else soon enough anyway, why not wait until then?
