I have had Flowmasters cat back on my Vette, once for years. It had stock 350LT1 with 2.59 gears, 3.08 and 3.73.s. Stock Convert, 2000 Stall from LPE and finally a Vigilante 2800.
And with 396LT1 with Long Tubes.
No drone. .Ever.
I think you have drone, you are going to slow, just an observation. Inject sarcasm.

I've had both on my car, which is an 91 A4 with a 383. The exhaust is Hooker long tubes with 2.5" duals and an x-pipe (no cats). The first set-up had 40 series Flowmasters and I later went to Corsas. Only the mufflers were changed and everything was kept the same. Below are videos of each set-up and a link to a thread I posted years ago on the differences. Unfortunately they're only at idle.

TA, your Vette sounds great with either mufflers.. Sweet
Here is mine. 396 Long Tubes, OEM cat back..
233/242 at .050 cam, 11 to 1 compression.
Cams and compression which make the air flow, obviously, have profound effects on mufflers sound..

I wish Corsa sold the mufflers only. That’s all I need and I can’t justify 1k+ to cut up a catback for two mufflers.

Borla is the same way. If you buy the mufflers alone, it would cost you a couple hundred less than the whole system.

The corsa in that video is actually the first time I liked the sound of it on a c4. Normally I think they sound muted. At least on the couple I've heard in person. If they had a different tip I'd consider it on my car lol. Sounds similar to what mine sounds like. It doesn't drone... I just hate necking down to 2.25 where it's 3 inch to the differential and drops to 2.5 otherwise.

You dont need over 2.5 inche exhaust per side for most engines. Especially C4 Vettes.
And, as the exhaust goes away from engine it cools and therefore needs less pipe to exhaust.

That is why I got it.

So what? Twin 2.25 flows more than a 3,right?

Yeah. My math puts it on the edge. I did a back pressure test and it's zero but that's no load. It's probably fine. It's more the way I transitioned it that concerns me as there was no room for a smooth reduction... kind of sudden is all.

Best bet is to sell your first born to buy new, dont buy the new iPhone, or look for used Corsa exhausts. Even the new Flowmaster has Stainless Steel in the system, but different series mufflers.
I love the way the Flowmasters sound, and I have a used exhaust I bought on this forum. Needs a little TLC and I will put it in.. It was a ZR1 version and the front is a little different. But resonator and mufflers are same as I had years ago.. It was too loud for the significant other, well, thats not a problem anymore.

Top off I can talk at a normal volume so it isn't really an issue. I had it and liked how it sounded and it got better with the mods so I'm not concerned. If I see an issue with where it becomes a restriction then for sure it's coming off. Right now it's fine though. Much bigger bottle necks to work through lol.

And I like the fact they're ZR-1 tips.

How does that work where it is so free flowing that it can equal a straight pipe? Any documentation or sales literature?

That’s interesting......I’ve always heard the opposite. I remember seeing muffler flow tests that always put Flowmasters near the bottom.

They do sell a generic muffler that fits under a C4. I installed two of these on my 93:
