I bought a 85 for my son he graduates from High school this year, and this is a car he can do most repairs on it, I have all the tools and toys to repair it. The issue I am having is is electric. the cluster went out , I had him take off the dash even the bread box to see if there was anything loose checked everything that was suggetsed by this forum but none of it worked. it funny when I was testing the wires going into the control panel to see if there was power the cluster lights up but doesnt work, cleaned a grounds replaced all fuses but no luck I am looking for a corvette mechanic that can take a look at it here in riverside ca or close by, This car will be his daily driver to Collage which is only 15 miles from the house, If anyone knows a good corvette shop they would recommend I would appriciate it
I called Bryan and he knew exactly what the problem was, shipping the cluster to him and I will have him change out the bulbs also while its there, thank you guys for the help. I will let you guys know when it gets back
Hey guys I sent it to Batee and just came back yesterday, still will not turn on ???
Contact him and let him know. Usually he sends you an email explaining what all he found and repaired prior to shipping your dash back to you. So I'd probably want to ask him what the next step is.
Sadly I can't help beyond giving that advice since I don't own one of the older cars. Best of luck.
I would imagine the dash cluster did have problems and as stated by Nomake Wan you should contact Batee and find out what they found and did. The cluster probably works great now, but for whatever reason you have an electrical issue which is keeping power from it.
yes there was issues with cluster, he fixed that and put in new lights and one panel, did a great job, but there are more problems, I found a shop that in is called GM only and is in Moreno Valley, they had good reviews and specialize in older GM cars,
I will let you guys know what he says it is.
hey guys sent to GM only in moreno valley, it ended up being the ignition switch and some loose wires, he fixed it all car runs great, thank you for all the help
