My '89 will not blow out any air. All control buttons seem to function. I am not hearing the blower motor kick on. Would appreciate help with trouble shooting.
A friend just had this happen to him. the blower module is mounted above the ac evaporator box. make sure thats plugged in. he ended up having to trace the wires and found one had been cut! I know he used a multimeter to find out which pin was the problem in the plug. A reference signal or something.
Get the Factory Shop Manual with the wiring diagrams if you want to do this. I would think the fan has 2 wires. DVOM will tell if they are live or not. If not, go look backwards to the module. If so, new blower fan.
On cars equipped with C68(yours), a quick check would be to turn your key on, turn the blower to the highest speed, remove the two wire connector seen in the attached picture from the blower control module located on top of the evaporator control box, and check for 12V on the red wire. If you have 12V then you will need to replace the blower control module. If not, then you have a problem in the HVAC control unit.

great test. i have heard one situation recently a wire between the in car controller and resister had been severed.
a good second test may be to do continuity test on eachbwire from hvac controller to the pins in the harness contector to the resistor

Hello. I just repaired the non-functional blower operation in my '89 with similar symptoms as your car is displaying. Do you have access to a FSM? There is a good diagnostic procedure on pg 8A-66-2. In my case all the major components were good, but the blower signal from the HVAC control head was not getting to the blower resistor module due to a broken (or cut) wire. If you do not have access to the FSM, let us know and I will copy the pgs. Once you get going on the diagnostic readings it should be fairly easy to pinpoint the issue.
