My 1993, with ZO7 suspension, has some squeeky noises happening while driving on decent but roads that have some bumps. I notice it goes away if I pop the hood.
Any Grease points or suggestions?
The hood latches and latch mechanisms require grease. Haven't heard of anyone greasing the hood hinges.
Somehow I doubt the hood latches are causing the squeaks, but I have been wrong before.
While looking in the area of the latches, I noticed behimd the cruise control module, one of the nuts that holds the ecms bracket was gone. So, off to hardware store.
It's adhesive-backed felt that goes on the hood itself - on the surface that contacts your firewall gasket. The black rubber piece near the windshield wipers is notorious for squeaking as the hood moves over the top of it via bumps in the road. If you stick these to the underside of the back hood edge, they help.
