Bent driveshaft?
Hi guys,
I usually post in the C3 forum,
a friend of mine who owns a C4 has always had a vibration in the car around 65mph.
We/he narrowed it down to the driveshaft ( trans to diff).
You can visibly see its vibrating / out of round when filming it. We then checked it by mounting a magic marker to just touch the driveshaft. It only puts a mark on half of the shaft, showing that it’s bent / the driveshaft is running not true.
Has anyone ever come across this? The problem isn’t in the diff yoke, we turned the shaft 180* and the same part of the driveshaft was the “high” part.
Can ujoints get twisted? It’s a 92 with an aluminium shaft, getting it straightened is impossible according to the trans shop close to us.
