New here, new vette owner , first post outside introduction. Anyway I've searched but found nothing conclusive. The pan gasket is leaking on my trans & I figured while I have the pan off I'd service it and replace the filter I would like to put a pan on that had a drain plug for future fluid/filter changes. Is the pan special to the Corvette or can I simply buy a pan for a 4l60e that has a drain plug already like this one from summit

I'd really prefer a deep pan but I'm not sure about ground clearance and if the filter would be supported in a deeper pan.
Thanks for your guidance in advance

It's up to you but I prefer not to drill the pan have a drain....
If you do a search on ebay for 4l60e or 700r4 pan you will get hundreds of options to look at. Any that claim "standard capacity" or "low profile" should work just fine. Most run about $30.
does the deeper pan add any value? Or is the stock one suffice.
The more fluid the better. More oil = lower temps. Temperature is what ultimately wears out a transmission. Now there is a point that it becomes overkill. If a guy just cruses in a car and enjoys it without any trips to the race track and he drives in a cooler climate then the stock capacity is more then enough, But if you have more power then stock and you drag race or beat the crap out of the car on the street in a hot climate then you might want to consider a deeper pan and a larger trans cooler. Also if you have a higher than stock stall speed converter then you definitely need more cooling/capacity.

I just ordered a Yank TC and they say it doesn't need a trans cooler(but I'm adding one anyway). That should suffice. Does the larger pan hang lower than stock?
