Default NOS 05151 Kit on TPI Engine Question.

I just installed a NOS - 05151 Plate TPI kit on my 89 corvette. When it is activated it bogs down and I notice that the fuel pressure drops to about 25 psi. My idle pressure is 43 and load pressure is about 53. I have tried trouble shooting the noraml things. I have a full bottle of Nitrous and it is running at 900 psi. I have used NOS on other cars, but not with a high pressure system mostly carb plate systems. I have tried both 100hp and the 150 hp both feel weak. Has anyone else had this problem or have any thoughts.

Jet the kit for 50HP and watch your fuel pressure. It sounds like your fuel pump can't keep up with the higher jets. Have you ever changed our fuel pump? It might be on its way out for high demands like that. Pump upgrades are relatively cheap. If I were you I would think about installing a fuel pressure cutoff switch as a safety measure with pressures going that low. You don't want to run it lean.

What Pump upgrades do you recommend? I only have a 100 and 150 jet setup and it is a wet system.

For what it is worth - I could not get mine to work either. I bought a TNT system and it works fine. :confused:

If the NOS solenoid is not opening, the car will bog. You will be getting enrichment fuel and no NOS, so the car will be super rich. I run that same kit and have never had a problem with it. You could also check the impedance of both solenoids, the NOS coil may be open. Good luck!
