Default Battery no longer fits

I just converted my 87 auto to a ZF-6. I unfortunately discovered that the battery no longer fits in the tray due to it hitting the clutch master cylinder. Any suggestions before I move to relocate the battery to the rear of the car?

Can you post a picture of the battery and the area near the master cylinder? It may be due to the form factor of your battery if it's different than the manual-equipped C4s originally used, or possibly the type of master cylinder which is a bit harder to resolve.... Try to include the battery top label in the photo if you can.

Another possibility is you don't have the oem size battery. My first guess though is the clutch cylinder itself is bigger than oem, maybe aftermarket or something else. Though I don't have a ZF transmission, mine clears just fine.

What year clutch master are you using? What part interferes with the battery? The early (84-88) master hose connects at a different location and angle than the late (89-96) one does. Is the hose the issue?

That is strange. I converted my 86 auto to ZF-6 and I have about an inch and a half clearance between the battery and clutch master. A bigger battery would not fit in a stock battery tray. What clutch master did you use?
