First time doing a brake job on my 95. The shop manual says the outer pads are supposed to have insulators on the backing plates and the outer pads I pulled off had a hard paper-like material stuck on them. I got the Performance Friction Z-rated pads from Autozone, but there isn’t anything on any of the backing plates.
Anybody know if the Performance Friction Z-rated pads normally come with insulators?
If not, have you had any problems with brake squealing with these pads?
What, if anything, have you used between the outer pads and the caliper (brake grease, brake quiet, etc.)?
