Ok so I took her for a ride after replacing a hose and "'burping" the cooling system. Got home, popped the hood and notice steam coming from the radiator cap. I looked closer and the cap itself looks kind of deformed and burnt. I didnt loose any coolant, but I'm thinking I didn't tighten the cap properly when burping the system, and therefore fried the cap. Anyone have this happen? :D
Re: Steam from radiator cap - whoa... (corvette0096)
I would take the cap to a good radiator shop and have them pressure check the cap. A good parts store may also have a tester. These caps have a pressure function and a vacuum feature. Also visually check the radiator where the cap attaches. Something seems amiss.
