Hey guys! I am looking at some spoilers for a 1984 c4. I kind of want to go really wild with it! For example AWF030 Wing Aerotech Rear 84-90 (corvettepartsworldwide.com)... Not sure if anyone has any experience and or what they would recommend. Anything helps thank you!
On the other hand there is nothing wrong with making the car "your own". Greenwood also made several different kits for C3 & C4 vettes that had some pretty wild spoilers.
I have a 1996 Black Coupe. I am currently having my Greenwood rear spoiler removed. I personally don't like the look on my car. But these wings from doing research are very hard to find Original. There are aftermarket replicas, but not the same.
Since this is all personal preference and the standard disclaimer "It's your car..." applies I'm going to share my personal preference.
Some cars look good with a rear aerodynamic enhancement. The C4 is not one of them. To be fair, I have seen a few lip spoilers and low wings similar to those found on Camaros and Trans-Ams of the era that looked tolerable. But I would emphasize "tolerable."
My car came with one, and I cannot wait to get rid of it. It's an imitation Greenwood, and I'm debating whether to call it a wing or a spoiler. I think I'm going with spoiler. Because that's what it does to the look of the car.

Reason: Hyphenated "Trans-Am"
I'm in the "it's your car, do as you like" crowd. My 86 vert came with the Greenwood on the back. I personally think it's too large for a street car and some day I will remove it. I like the later model rear bumper covers so I will most likely go that direction.
Following up on my post. Just got my car back from the body shop. It looks amazing. Instead of removing the wing, covering up the holes, then painting, the body shop found me a brand new rear fascia and painted it. I definitely recommend going this route, it's a little more expensive, but the end result looks like it came from the factory. I will post pics once the weather here in NY is nice.
