I figured I should get the CD player rebuilt, since it hasn't worked in a year or more. Since I'm selling my car, I figured I should keep the original eqmt. I could tell the rear speaker amps were bad, and had them rebuilt also--(I just got tired of trying to find new caps with even the same crappy specs as the originals).
Anyway, got them back and connected. Now I can tell the front speaker amps are bad, too. Sigh
AND HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU GET THE PLAYER LINED UP WITH THE HOLE BACK THERE? :mad :cuss
Is there a trick to this? There isn't room enough for an inspection mirror, and after taking some measurements, it seems the thing should be just sliding right in--but it's not. I'm fairly certain I've pushed the plugs back down into the hole they come up through, so they shouldn't be in the way.
It seems like such a simple thing, and it is kicking my butt!
There is a plastic prong. I took it off and tried to put the thing in with just the screw sticking out the back, but it still feels like there's something in the way.
Probably the cable connectors? I wonder if there is a way to reach them from behind and pull them out of the way while inserting the CD player?
What do you mean by GM feature? Are you talking about the plastic prong, or the cable connectors that might be in the way?
