I’ve got a ‘95 6 speed coupe with a 383 stroker and had to remove the alternator to pull the driver side valve cover, in the process the output wire grounded onto the alternator and it blew at-least one fusible link behind the battery, I think both are bad so I’m gonna try and replace them with inline fuses because I haven’t been able to find the proper fusible links local or even online. Unfortunately both of the ones I’m going to replace are unreadable so my main question is one will an inline fuse even work for me and two what amp fuse should I put in it?

Fuses are 'never' suggested for a fusible link replacement. Fusible link 'wire' should be an easy buy locally I'd think. I don't get the can't find!
A FoMoCo or MoPar dealer might actually have on the shelf with a ring terminal. Most auto parts stores - NAPA I'd think for sure.

thats what I’d think too... until I drove to 3 local auto part stores near me all different ones, one of which was a car quest hub so they theoretically should have anything I’d need there but all 3 didn’t have any fusible links at all and only one even carried inline fuses. Not to sure on what I’m gonna do because I’d like to get it fixed properly but the only “replacement” I’ve found is an entire new wiring harness for the charging system from the alt. To the battery, to a fuse box and it doesn’t seem to be a direct fit it seems to be more generic. Trying to fix it by tomorrow so I’d rather not have to order parts but I guess I may have to if i want it fixed right.

EDIT: I’ve found some fusible link at a parts store a little further from me, spliced it in and everything’s working fine now.
