i'll email you tonight with part number for your springs, retainers, locks and the valves you will need. all can be ordered from summit racing. just been busy today, i'll get it for you in a little while.
ahh..everyone beat me to the valve i was going to recommend, the manley "race-flo" is the 1.94/1.50 valve that flows so well. the pros are 2.02/1.6" up sizes. anyway here's your part numbers
the springs, retainers and locks are all made by comp cams. when you call summit just say these are all comp part numbers
springs 986-16
retainers 740-16
locks 611-16
nice light steel retainer and 10deg locks, springs have #135 on the seat and are a dampened dual spring. since your using a 409 cam this is one of the least expensive combos to use that offers GREAT performance.
valves are made by manley
part numbers
intake man-11522-8
exhaust man-11521-8
your engine shop will need to machine the heads to fit the new springs and also use ID locating cups on the smaller springs. they also will need new valve seals.
if you want a porting kit with some instructions it's part number
For the short period of time that I worked at Total Engine Airflow that's almost all we used. Didn't matter if it was a Honda or a Hemi, it had Ferrea valves in it. They are extremely durable and have exceptional quality. All the ones we used had undercut stems and were swirl polished. Very nice valves.
All the Manley's I saw when working there were :U That's not to say that ALL Manley's are like this, just the few that I saw.
manley makes everything from mild to wild. the ones i listed are a full on stainless steel valve, swirl polished and undercut at the stem. they produce everything from low cost oem valves to titanium race valves. the other thing to consider is mr. fishes location, i'm sure it's in his best intrest to order everything from one place.
Yes, quite voluntarily. I'm now working at the local H.H. Gregg. I liked the job at TEA better but it's a lot dirtier and didn't provide any benefits. At H.H. Gregg I can get good prices on medical and dental and I certainly work more hours.
I wish I could work at TEA for the H.H. Gregg money :)
Nathan is spot on, Ferrea over Manley any day. If it's stainless, in our stuff it is Ferrea, if it's Ti, then DelWest:)
Not to say that they Manleys arent a quality valve, I've no reservations running them really, but Ferrea's quality control and finished product is just nicer.
