Default Starter Heat Soak Fix

Calling all shadetrees. After the recent long tube header install and motor rebuild, I now have a starter heat soak problem, which doesn't really surprise me. I know I can buy a starter heat shield wrap from Summit, but I was wondering if anyone out there has scoped out a lower dollar alternative. I'm not against spending the $30 or so, but I'm sure that it can be done for less $$. Ideas anyone??

I don't know of anything cheaper, but since the new bullet will have headers, I'll be following this post. Another alternative is to remote mount a solenoid, away from the heat. That's not cheaper, though.

RACE ON!!!

I spent the $30 on the wrap from Summit. It looks like a nice wrap and I will install it soon. I'd rather not get stuck somewhere so I think it's good insurance.
