On a rare occasion, I drove my car in a light rain.
The wipers are hitting in the middle of the windshield as the return to center.
Anyone else ever experience anything like this?
I would double check and make sure you have the correct length wiper blades and also check to see if that are installed correctly. Sometimes they are off set from the center mount a bit might be installed inverted.
You can carefully adjust your wiper arms, in the Left windshield well some year's have a little pop out piece that allows you to put a 10mm wobble or U-joint extension and you can loosen the arms and gap them by their linkage arms, after you stop the blades mid wipe to allow you better access to the bolts. But be careful because you can make them pinch or slide over edges of windshield.
. If you don't have the little take out piece door you need to take a razor blade and cut windshield adhesive were the cover screen contact's it then you can remove the screen and make adjustments

had same issue + driver side wiper tip going over windshield trim
wiper I removed from drivers side was 20” (maybe was incorrect 🤷♂️)
Anyway replaced with 19”
solved both issues.
Do you have them on the correct sides? The driver and passenger wipers are not the same size

I didn’t install them. Replacing drivers side. Interesting you say they are different lengths - is that all C4’s ? Mine is 84 - Because when I went to purchase new one some manufacturers listed 20”, and some 19”. 🤷♂️ I wonder if 19” was originally specified for one side and 20” for other and that’s been lost in the specifications over the years.
Anyway the one on the drivers side, which was hitting the other one and grazing the windshield post, was 20” - maybe it was supposed to be 19” all along
According to my GM parts catalog 84-94 used wiper blade 12363800 on both sides which are 20". 95-96 used LH 22154985 and RH 22155368 which are 19.69". GM redesigned the wiper arms in 95 because of the many complaints of blades hitting. Years ago it was common to convert the early c4's to the later arms to solve the problem. .
thx for information. GM went to 2 19.6” blades to solve the problem - fascinating : 2 19.6’s or 19&20 add up to … 39!.
Seems you can save yourself some $ by going to a 19 ( in my case) on the drivers side and 20” on pax side. In other words replace only one. The wiper I purchased was a “universal exact fit” @$15
oops just realized - there goes my Bloomington Gold 😱

There was the slight bend in the arm that changed the angle of the blades when they were close together that solved the problem. The pins are different so the early and late blades won't interchange .
