Rear clac sound
Jose Alvear Ziegler.
Are you trying to say that it clacks when you put the Corvette in reverse?
Or is it Clacking when you turn hard?
How loud is the Clacking Noise?
Could you make a video and post it for the experts here?
How many miles are on the Corvette?
Is the Corvette a manual Transmission or an automatic?
Which Bushings did you replace on your Corvette?
I am sorry it is a bit challenging to understand the question. English is a tough language for anybody to speak let alone to write in. My Compliments to you as you write better in English than I do in Spanish. I lived in Bolivia, Guatemala and Colombia so I speak Spanish pretty well.
If you have to you can try the question in Spanish and maybe I will be able to understand.
We will try to identify the clunk with you!

Chris
It must be nice to have a Corvette in Chile!!
- Correct when I reverse and advance a clack sounds, then stop doing it.
- It's not that loud, but it can be heard perfectly from inside the car.
- It has 99,000 miles.
- It's automatic.
- The bushings the (4) rear arms, stabilizer bar bushings, rear spring tie rod bushings.
- The noise existed from before, but with the change of these bushings many noises disappeared, its driving was very good.
- I have this Corvette 1994 Lt1 since January, I love it, I keep it and before I had a Corvette 1986 L98, it sold it very well.
What can I tell you, in Chile muscle cars are highly valued and loved, here there are many corvette and camaros, thank you for your time I will send you photos, greetings rgds.

I am not as familiar with the newer C4's with LT1 engines but lets give this a try. I have heard of U-Joints doing what you describe when they start to have play in them. You have several U-joints in the half shafts and the drive shaft.
On my 1988 when I shift the car it had a slight clunk as it when into gear and then when you tried reverse you would hear the same thing. I always thought it was okay unless the idle was higher than normal and then it would make a louder clunk. There will be some movement of the drive shaft and half shafts when the car goes into gear but not enough to make it clunk loudly. Lets see what the other LT1 owners have to add to this.
You say you hear the noise inside the Corvette, where is it coming from when you are driving the Corvette? If you narrow down where it is coming from we can get more precise on this end.
Have you checked the rear wheel bearings and listened for the noise?
With 99,000 miles the U-joints might need some service and or replacement. I wore out my half shaft U-joints on my C3 and they were noisy but no clunking but the car is a manual. I wonder about the drive shaft just getting in position is making the noise.
Does the clack first happen when you put it in drive while sitting still with the brake on?
The sound of the clunk is it from the front of the car or the rear? The rear Differential should not be making the noise, I hope.
You have probably checked your motor mounts on the engine by now but that would be a good idea. Loose motor can make clunks very easily. Especially when you put the car in reverse and hit the gas (and the motor rolls up off it's mounts and then crashes down) making a noise and possibly touching the hood.
I look forward to your answers and we will go from there. Thanks for responding so quickly!

Chris
Start by re-torquing the axle nuts. I think I did about 180 lb ft, I recall a general consensus to torque to a value greater than specified in the factory service manual, cannot recall exact # off memory.
