Air induction sound
Alright I know most of us here arent big 4 banger fans but my car prior to the vette, thank god I have the vette now, was an '01 Cavalier Z24. I did some minor bolt on stuff to it and it actually sounded good, what I liked best was the intake sound after installing an AEM shortram intake, what I am wondering is if there is a kit for the L98 that gives you that mean intake sound, and no I dont want my vette to sound like a 4 banger I just like that sound of air being sucked into the motor.I have done some reseach and found that most ppl either cut the airbox with a K&N installed or get one of the aftermarket "cold air intakes". I am not really looking for any hp gains, I relize that the gains for these systems is pretty small, just that cool noise is what I am going for. I guess my dads elcamino does it sort of when the 4 barrel opens up too. So if there is an induction system out there for the L98 that gives you that great sound lemme know :cheers:

A cut air filter lid will give you the sound your looking for and the best part is, if you have the tool(s) to cut it, it's a free mod! If you want the original lid to stay stock, you can buy a cut lid.

I have a cut lid/K&N setup, and what made mine louder was replacing the accordian-style hose between the MAF sensor and the TB with a smooth hose. I got it from MAD, and they call it the power coupler. It also made the car slightly more responsive. I see you're from my neck of the woods, I'll have to attend some SE Mich events with you boys!! :seeya

Cool thanks for the info, I think I am gonna buy a K&N and cut that lid.
