Default When did they switch?

I’m having a huge fight with Spec Clutches about the China TOB they sold me as there heavy duty brand not made in China well with the cast iron sleeve it’s a China bearing. So my question is can anyone tell me about what year Germany stopped making them for ac delco and China started?? Thanks guys and beware of Spec they still insist there supplier makes them here lol

I'm going through similar issues trying to get the right Throwout Bearing(TOB) for my 96 ZF. I ordered a McLeod flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and TOB from Summit. They sent me the wrong throwout bearing. According to Bill (ZFdoc.com) the earlier ZF transmissions had larger I.D. bearings than the later ZF transmissions. Nobody local had the bearing to fit my 96. I called Bill and he explained the differences. Also that the original bearings were superior, but have not been made for many years. As many on the forum can attest Bill is very generous with his time and knowledge. You might consider giving him a call if you really want the correct info on what's available for your Transmission.

yes I’ve talked to bill (ZF doc) many times and we all agree China makes junk Just was looking for a year because Spec clutches says there making there TOB in the USA which is false I bought one and it has a cast iron sleeve and all the guys on the forum laughed at Spec cause the good bearings were steel on the sleeve
