it starts, runs 5 seconds, shuts off by itself.
put a g as yge on fuel rail, 45 psi till it stops, then ecm turns off the pump, drops a little.
unplugged pink wire on dist, gurned on key, 12.5 volts.
engine starts, won’t stay running
nut 3 weeks ago, it ran fine
any ideas?
going to change dist. Cap wit a coil ( cause i have a spare)
then ecm ( cause i have a spare)
i have a gas can, so i put. 3 gallons in it in case.
just changed rear axle and batwing
I would probably start at the Fuel Pump Relay and follow the power. It might be best also to check the wires near the distributor and rear of the plenum as the oil pressure switch If that doesn't.
Sounds like it is priming but not continuing to run? Is that what you are describing pretty much?
If memory serves, the fuel pump comes on with the key for 5 seconds, then shuts off, until engine oil pressure indication allows it to turn back on. It sounds like it's not getting an oil pressure signal.
Found problem
intake bellows split open on the bottom.
apparently air through mass air did not match with parameters in ECM, and computer kept shutting off engine.
who looks there when you’re troubleshooting the fuel system
