Default Banjo bolt issue need help

I am working on the brakes on my 95 and I have an issue with the brake hose on the caliper. The banjo bolt is rounded. Does anyone have a trick to get this off. I tied different types of pliers and even some heat. Dosnt move.

I am afraid my only option is a remanufactured caliper.

Many thanks. I really do appreciate it.

Try turbo sockets. That's the slang name for those fluted sockets that remove rounded bolts. Can you turn the hose portion while loosening the bolt? You could try cutting the head of the banjo bolt off too.

I did they just spin on the bolt the vice grips.

I will try the turbo sockets. The flange of the hose wont let it turn on the caliper.

tighten the clamping further till you can barely clinch the grips closed.

these would likely pull it out. typically i put the smallest one on that will fit and tap/pound it on.

to remove the bolt turn it the opposite dxn in a vice.

you could also find a cheap socket 1size to small and pound it on. thats a throw away socket after that.

those extractors really do work.

dont forget new copper washers or ive also gently sanded them on 600 grit and reused them several times. just enough to remove any indentations. if its convenient to buy new i do.

Certainly will be easier off the car, remove other end of hose and remove caliper, throw it on a bench vise, try to file some flats on two sides of the rounded bolt head so vise grip has something to grab on to.

another option i use frequently are these specific style of vice grips.

they work amazing. they grip much better than the standard toothed style. available on amazon.

Great news everyone. The bolt is out. I went to Harbor Fright and purchased the bolt extractor sockets. Took 30 seconds.

Thanks for all of the help and ideas!!!!!!!
