Default Coolant Bypass Mod

Hi All,
I watched 1 video online about bypassing the coolant in the head of the engine and am thinking that since I don't live in Alaska nor will I ever drive the car in the snow or cold temp, I would think not having hot coolant running through the top end of the engine would cool down the engine and lower the overall temp of the engine. Does anyone know where to find more details (Videos) on how to do this? Also, have any of you guys/gals done this? Lastly, thoughts?

Thanks,

What exactly are you trying to achieve? While it will cool down the intake air temp a bit, if you think it will give you anything noticeable, it won't. If you want it to make it easier to take the TB off, sure. I send my injectors out every few years for cleaning during the winter so it is nice to not have coolant on the floor.

Simplest way is to disconnect the hoses at the IAC housing and find a coolant connector. More difficult way is to find a generic hose that is approximately the right shape and size and install.

You only need to disconnect the two hoses on either side, and connect them together. A piece of pipe, two hose clamps, thats it.

Or you can use a later model one piece upper radiator hose- try a '96.

How does that help bypass the Throttle body?

That's how I did my 93. I'll have to take a picture of mine. I also had to replace the hose that goes to the heater I believe. All I remember it makes a nice clean job.

This is the passenger side with a rubber cover over the outlet pipe.

Passenger side showing the bracket that held the original hose which I did away with.

The drivers side showing a new 96 upper radiator hose without the tee for the TB.

This is the Drivers side TB outlet pipe with cover.
