I have a macbook and saw some of the other computer options would not work with the mac
snap on mt2400?
are there any other reasonable options? - I am noticing that several people have gone to some type of scanner or scanner software to find and correct issues - I do not want to get too far ahead of myself with some of this, but this is starting to look like it will eventually be a necessity?.
if you check out youtube channel eugene tuorto, he goes into two styles of “scanning” (reading real time data from your car).
one uses android device with an android app, and the other style uses a windows machine, loaded with tunerpro rt, download the definition file for your car, and then use a physical aldlcable.com or a moates cable to connect to the car.
im not going to sugarcoat it, tunerpro rt is a pita.
if you can figure out the aldldroid option with android that seems easier.
Give 1320 Electronics a call. I like their tool HERE. I have tried a few other scanners that didn't work and IIRC, Actron told me that they didn't support the Corvette after they bought out Auto X-ray.
If you get the Snap On tool, it works too as long as you find the modules. That or an older Auto X-ray that I have.
Autoxray EZ Read 2000 Automotive Code Reader, Diagnostic Tool w/ case and cables - found on ebay - i do not know if i can put the link on here or not - says it has modules for obd1 gm, ford and chrysler - does that sound right?

I have that but a 1000 model so I think you are OK
looked at the image again the manual has 1000 next to the obd 1 and 2000 next to the obd 2 - it comes with both cables so it sounds right - i hope - $100
I have a 1320 cable that I have been using. Easy to use. John Wales at 1320 was very helpful. The only issue I had was powering the module. The cable is supplied with a cigarette socket DC adapter. I do not have a cigarette lighter in my car. I put together a cable with a fuse, DC plug and a plug I fashioned from a fuse that I soldered to my new cable. Then I used the fuse panel in my car to supply the 12vdc the module requires. The cable saves the data files as a *.csv file to your phone. I used ALDL Scan on my LG G6 Android phone.
I've been playing around with ALDLdroid lately with a wired connection (Moates cable) using an old Samsung Galaxy tab2. ALDLdroid uses TunerPro based files which is a plus and also saves logs in both xdl and csv formats which is also nice. I haven't tried 160 baud yet, but assume it will work fine. I have had better luck with my own adx files than with those provided, however.
I can only get it to connect and log with key on/engine off or with a long usb cable running outside of the car some distance away (8-10 feet or so) with the engine running which makes it impractical for anything other than static logging, When the connection fails, it tends to lock up the program/tablet forcing a restart, which can be time consuming to recover. I need to work out a better solution for the cable issue, or step up and try a bluetooth adapter. I much prefer using a laptop, but an android device can be made to work if necessary.
