Need help, C5 brake upgrade
I'm about to do the whole upgrade tomorrow and got a couple of quesions.
I've never done a brake job before but it looks pretty easy so I figured I'll give it a go.
1.I am assempling the calipers now to see if I am missing anything.
The Hawk brake pads dont look like they came with Pad abutment shims or antirattle springs(I think). See parts 10 and 6 in this picture.

Do I need these. There is a little clip thing on one of the brake pads for each side.
2. Is that little clip brake pad supposed to go on the outside or the inside?
I think thats about it. Any tips would be cool too. :cheers:

Those anti-rattle clips are available in a separate kit from GM. Contact Jeff Kopp (18carfan) and he can order them for you.
He did for me...

Good luck with the dealer...if like normal dealers they will say the parts only come with the new GM pads. Also, if they happen to be able to find the part number, they will likley not have them in stock, Jeff Kopp even had to order them. He told me he was going to start stocking them, so they should be on his shelf now...

Well glad I got the corvette clinic here in san jose, they had them.
Delayed one day, but ready to go for tomorrow :cheers:
