I have a 91 and considering purchase of a scan tool possibly an android supported device. Looking for advice from anyone who used or owned these where to buy and also what data they give especially do they give live data on both o2 sensors.
If you find something please post what you have found. I have never seen them for OBD1 cars.
On OBD2 cars there are a number of bluetooth ones. I bought a cheapie to try. It can reset trouble codes and monitor a number of sensors. I can select which ones to monitor, but I don't remember if O2 sensors were one of the choices. It is OK, but I don't use it very often.
I have the 1320 electronics bluetooth adaptor and bought ALDL Droid for use with my 89 ZF6. It works very well, you can read all live data, record and review data logs. It's to easy to set things like TPS and keep an eye what's going on. Totally worth it. I also use the 1320 adaptor with bluetooth and a laptop to data log with TunerPro. Using those logs someone was able to make a new tune for me once I installed a Miniram.
I've had my car 5 years now and it's one of the most useful tools I have.
I have a Red Devil River Bluetooth box with ALDL Droid. I've played with it a bit but to be honest never been all that successful. ALDL Droid is fine, but the box doesn't connect to my '93 without a lot of hoopla... That is, it requires multiple resets to connect and even then won't necessarily stay connected. I think this is an issue with the DLC in my car but have not really tried to track it down yet. On my to-do list is to try the BT box on another car, and to try a cable on my car. This is on the back burner for me though, as I was looking at their site yesterday and 1320 doesn't have a lot of stuff in stock right now. Nor does Moates. I probably wouldn't buy from Red Devil River again. His stuff is pricey but OK, and it's near impossible to get an email response.
