Default air intake question

1992 base corvette automatic
Prior owner put in K and N filter and just cut shroud to fit and left original filter cut out. Will I pull enough cooling air with this large opening in the front shroud through the cooling system. Should I seal the shroud and if I do is it too tight the original design had air intake in the equation for proper flow any advice is helpful. New motor new radiator new almost everything I want it right. Please advise. the picture is uninstalled but should get the point

IMO it was better off stock, with the cover cut

It turned out that the GM engineers actually did a good job with the LT1 engine and exhaust.
Even the cut lids did little to increase power. Or the notorious throttle body airfoils
Most of this was thrashed out a very long time ago.

You should be able to get the air filter cover, base, and ducting from a salvage yard.Don't forget the specific bolts.
I believe Mirrock Corvette may be a good site- https://mirrockcorvette.com/. You may want ti call them and ask for the complete assembly-assuming it is all usable.

For new- all I saw was the ducting/ power coupler at Zip Corvette.
And please buy a shop manual on CD from Rock Auto - it is under Literature, Dave Graham. Thanks to @Nomake Wan .
Here is a clip from a '94 FSM- the '92 is slightly different

I would put it back to stock. There's people on here making way more power than stock, amd still using the stock intake. You can check out AES Corvette Parts, they get lots of salavage parts, and the pricing seems decent. Once in while intake bits pop up on ebay too. Just a few ways to get it done a bit cheaper, if you're ok with used stuff of course.

Looks like what is left of a Vortex Rammer Cold Air System.
The box is missing?

Thank you all for your help. I will get original equipment for air filter and box, thanks for the go to for getting parts parts. I for sure bought a factory service manual, I replaced engine, heater core and multi function switch, impossible without manual, almost impossible with manual which is why I really appreciate your help and input thank you
