Okay, its finally running. It will idle after some 10 minute run time, until then I have to keep my foot slightly on it, even after closed loop. The O2 sensor reads lean with very few crosscounts, the integrator climbs real high until the block learn gets up to 158-160, and at idle its at 7gps.
Codes are a little strange-
The timing is set at 6 degrees initial. The diacom software is reading the timing and adjusting. The fuel pressure is at 53psi. Injectors are "flowed" stock. The chip is a TPIS stage 5.
I found and repaired an intake leak at the egr blockoff plate.
It revs real strong and I'm half tempted to drive it, but lots of money and time make me want to get it right before I damage it.
I'm a beginner with the Diacom software, any help with that would be good too.

Re: New Motor Running-Need Help With Tune (severe-1)
Seeing a code 41 makes me suspect that tpis prom....did you just put it in? Or had you used that same prom before without problems?
Code 41 Has to be a bad connection to ground at ecm pins D3 and/or D10-or the prom.
Try the original prom to see if the codes clear; then you'll know for sure it's the prom.
And yea-I wouldn't drive it untill you figure it out and don't have blms of 160! 160 is as far as it compensates, then after that it's getting way lean.....
Re: New Motor Running-Need Help With Tune (drive it)
I put the stock prom back in, and got the same codes plus some about the EGR (which is eliminated). I was wondering if I needed a new computer.
I'll have to check the grounds...
Re: New Motor Running-Need Help With Tune (severe-1)
something is really f'd, i ran the engine in my sig for a few minutes on a stock prom & only had the egr codes. as you can see it's a long ways from stock. this whole thing sounds more like a wiring problem, bad computer or some bad sensors. trouble shoot them one by one & see if you can get any to go away...i've seen a lot but i seriously have never seen what you describe from a new engine unless something is broken or wired screwey.
Re: New Motor Running-Need Help With Tune (gtsyellow)
That high of BLM indicates to me a vacuum leak. Check the IAC counts, not sure how its shown in Diacom, but if its pegged at zero, then you have a leak still and the iac is fully closed trying to cut the air, but it can't because of the leak.
Best way to find the leak is with some Ether.
Re: New Motor Running-Need Help With Tune (ski_dwn_it)
I've sprayed around the intake with brake clean and can't find any intake leaks. The trouble code about the O2 sensor being rich has me confused. I'm going to replace it and see what happens. I'm also going to respray for a leak one more time cause that would explain alot. The car seems rich to me by the smell of the exhaust. The IAC seems to be functioning properly. I can raise or lower the idle screw and either close the IAC or get it to open to. Like I said, once the block learn gets to 158-160, it runs real good.
My beater that Ive been driving is about dead. I need my vette back!
Keep the ideas coming cause I'm about out of them. Thanks...
