SHO swap into c4?

Which Holley EFI system are you using? Have you considered a Water/methanol Injection system? I run a High compression 427 in my C3 and when it gets really hot the engine loves the water and Methanol injection. Suddenly my fuel is equivalent to 116 Octane and The water is removing heat from the metal surfaces and keeps the pistons crown from building up any carbon deposits as well. I want to have it set up as an automatic thing that operates when the engine reaches a specific temperature and/or Vacuum requirements. I believe I can do it through the Holley EFI Software that came with my Holley Stealth Sniper. The lower version of software like mine do not have provisions for a Knock Sensor. The more expensive equipment comes with better software from what I was told.
Even though the intake location isn't ideal, the IAT normally runs about 10°F above the ambient temperature, 20° while it is under full boost. (Car has a front mounted intercooler.) I haven't bothered trying for a cooler intake location since I'm planning a twin turbo setup this winter and didn't figure it worth the work for something I'd have to completely redesign and build. (Designing and fabricating the manifolds is already a ton of work!) The planned location for the twins will be lower and further back, probably requiring a scavenger pump to get the oil back to the pan.
I've got a Holley HP. I will be using their W/M injection kit in the future when I push the boost pressure higher but it isn't necessary with the relatively low 5 psi I'm currently running. The HP system is capable of using one or two knock sensors.

Great link, and neat car
LS is nothing special.
wow! You threw a modern turbo on it. Whoopity to do. Can throw a turbo on anything and it will survive. Esp when the vehicle its pushing is only 3000 lbs
Your LT will never compare to my LS, ever. LT1/4 are absolute garbage. I'm finally stooping to your level and saying it. Your stock bottom end LT will never handle the power of any of my stock bottom end LS engines.
You will never go as fast, and you will always struggle 5x as hard to fail to do so.
Your supercharged LT on nitrous with E85 and meth injection will never even hold a candle to what my little 260k mile 4.8 did on 9 PSI.
Done.
To the OP, I'd recommend fixing the original engine. If the engine itself is fine, and you're going to have to run a stand-alone on the SHO, it would just make more logical sense from time/cost/difficulty/effort/logistical points to just buy a standalone and put it on your L98. I'm sure there are standalones that can be made to work on both engines, so worst possible scenario, you've just spent a bit of time tinkering with the stand alone on the original engine as either a learning experience or finding out how it interacts with the rest of the car for when you do finally do the swap. There aren't really any downsides to doing so.
I've owned an SHO before. Fun engines, but they certainly have their issues. Without a power-adder, performance will seem lackluster even to a stock TPI engine in a C4. You'll also have the headaches of the C-beam, shifter location, power steering and AC should you keep them, and will need a custom driveshaft, engine mounts, etc.

I'm also not delirious enough to make radical outlandish claims because I'm in catastrophic denial and can't get over my own shortcomings and failures.
I'm all for the SHO swap in a C4. I think it would be an amazing learning experience, but I also think it should only be done if the reason justifies the journey that the swap will be. If you're only doing it because there is an electrical issue with your V8 and not because you are dead-set on swapping the SHO engine into the C4, then consider re-evaluating your decision.

But this is right too. And means more to me today, than "1200hp", or "whatever". I can't emphasize enough how little I care about a sweet Camaro, an old Firebird, a killer, clean Bronco......any car, with an LS swap. I've seen some damn cool cars at C&C and shows, then I look under the hood and see the plastic intake, stupid e-throttle and coils on the valve covers. Interest is gone. That was a cool car, then they LS swapped it. I walk away and look for a more interesting car.

....I am in the same boat. Used to care about fractions of a second, but now, quick and cool suffices.

it was still a stone.
i put a 3:07 rearend in it, still a stone.
then i had a muffler shop cut off the cats (true dual exhaust) and install “test pipes”.
that was the problem, the cats were melted and plugging up the exhaust.
try that and you might find the hidden problem.

( But I have to admit the 5.0 5 speed fox body Mustang I had rank as one of my favorites)
