HELP!- Interior soaked from rain. Tips on drying it out correctly.
This morning my 96 corvette was hit by a heavy rain with the top off. All the electric seems to be fine, but the carpet is soaked and pooling water. Any tips.

wet/dry shop vac as much as possible out of it...then put some fans on it. It will dry out in no time....
At my parents dealership, some of the peoples trade ins are sooooo dirty they take the dashes, seal off the electric conectors and actaully power wash the seats, and carpets out!
Take the seats out and shampoo the carpets and seats, put fans on everything and you would not believe how they look afterwards. Like brand new :D
Use the shop vac, it will suck it up and out quicker....

Actually had this happen to me with the targa off. What I did is take the seats out, coushins off the seat frames and laid them in the middle of the floor in my room with the cieling fan on high blowing on them. Left them like that for like 24 hrs or so, and I have cloth seats. My carpet did not get all that soaked so I was able to dry it with several towels and a hair dryer, but I can tell you from personal experience with another car that leaked on me that if it is soaked it is best to take the carpet out so it does not mildew under it, IMO. I did not do that at first and the car started to smell, I finally pulled the carpet back and it was a PITA cause it was like the carpet was glued down, and it wasn't supposed to be. Would have been alot easier to do it when it first happenned.

Plenty of good ideas.
Plain water, carpets really don't care. Wet vac, then if you are so inclined, maybe use a good car/rug shampoo. Depends on your energy level.
Once had heater core connector fail on a GM vehicle. Two gallons of anti freeze/water mixture flowed right into the car before we could get off the road. Draind it out, shampoo, vacuum, no problem.
