Default Flash or relearn questions

I have to replace the ecm on a 1990 convertible , does the replacement reman unit need to be flashed or can it relearn itself.

It has a chip, you must put the old chip into the reman ECM.

And make sure you don't put it in backwards and fry your new ECM.

There is a cover held on with 4 screws. Under the cover is the PROM. You will need to transfer in to the new ecm as mentioned. The is tang that matches slot where it plugs in. Gently press it in and flip locks in place. Do not press prom is where locks snap in on their own, that can break board is ECM. You may need to transfer cover, make sure seal is inplace and not damaged. Screws should be tight but don't let that big arm man strip the threads.
